Hi,

Has anyone had trouble logging into AIM lately? My AIM was working fine a couple days ago, and now all of a sudden, I can't log in. I've been trying for two days now, and it won't let me log in. I have no idea what the cause is, or anything.. I'm getting very frustrated, though. It just says connection timed out when I try to log in. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do?

I've had no issues logging in, but I also have it set to forward messages to my phone, so I'm never technically signed off.
What version are you using? It's possible that maybe the older versions are no longer supported.
It's also possible that AOL is pulling the plug on it, much like they did with Winamp. Maybe try googling and see if anyone else has encountered this problem lately, or see if AOL has made any official statements. I hope to God that's not the case, because AIM is my main instant messenger. I don't use MSN or any of the other ones except Skype.
I would check into it myself, but I'm lazy at the moment, lol.

Thanks for your response. I'll google it.. Made sure I had the most up to date version after it didn't work, but still nothing. I'll check it out, and post again when I find out some more info.

Clear your browser history. All of it.
You also don't say what OS you are using.
If that doesn't fix it, reinstall it.
I don't use AIM, but that is the usual fix for this sort of thing.

I'm still not having problems logging in, but I noticed something odd today.
When I signed in, a window popped up asking me if I wanted to proceed, with a message about the security certificate not being valid.
I normally wouldn't think much of this, but Aim never asked me to do this before. I'm wondering if AOL's servers got hacked, or at least, if there are problems with them that are affecting some users.

Hi again,

Yes, I was getting that thing you mentioned with the security certificate all the time before this happened. Not sure if it's related, but I just thought I'd let you know.
I did some research on google, and found nothing. I just don't get it. lol It's getting beyond frustrating. I can't even talk to my friends anymore.
OH, poster 4, I tried your suggestion, and I still can't log in. Thanks for your suggestion though.

It is odd that AOL would allow the security certificate to not be valid.

Yeah, I don't know what's up with that. Over the past few days, it's been showing up off and on. One day I sign on and it's not there, the next it shows up randomly.
